The ocean is what makes me breathe. I'm so happy to live so close to it now, and even more grateful for my 4 years away from it because I never realized what I really had!

So we have moved and I have a feeling I'll be looking back at all the film I have of Drew playing music in our first home together. This is a very recent one. Usually Drew would sit here if I was cooking rice/pasta and he had to watch it while it was simmering so they wouldn't get soggy. I think this night- we had made german pancakes in the oven and was watching it.

I consider myself a documentary photographer. I mean that's really all I do. And so birth-stories are right up my alley. I have only done one before... so I thought, what a better way to start than to do a give-away??!

What do you get you ask?
1.  $250 birth story (normally ranging at $800). The second place person gets it for $450. (If you've already booked one with me, you get it for that much as well!!)
2. This session can either be done in your home or at a hospital. I can be in and out of the room where you'll be giving birth, or at specific times and places. The one linked and photographed above was just right after baby had her first cry, I walked into the room.
3. This birth has to be in Orange County, unless you're willing to fly me out to wherever you and your womb may be.
4. All of it will be shot on BW FILM.
5. This birth must be taken place between September 2011 & beyond.

On new about our move: We will no longer be living in Provo come May 1st. SO please note this in future inquiries. Traveling for already booked weddings doesn't apply, but future does.

Just to let you all know that I have not been slacking and I am working, just no time to post on my blog...I have been SO BUSY! I have been scanning film everyday for days and days..getting ready for a gallery show. I'll update you more when it's going up.. but just so you know, I'm still alive and well :)

While I keep continuing to shoot digital for my clients, I will give them complimentary discs. Sometime in the future I will make the transition (slowly, but surely!) to film. I mean why don't I shoot film for my clients when I shoot film on everything BUT clients?? Anyways, these are what the discs look like. And some have two slots for discs, usually for wedding clients since I shoot for longer and have more images to give.

All images are edited and I do not give any RAW files or un-edited image to anyone.

I have been working on a documentary type art project for a few months now, well really refining it these past few months. Everyone that follows my blog knows that I photograph Parlor Hawk, my husband's band all the time. Well, I decided to perfect my craft and really take it seriously. I decided that I would only use B&W film to photograph them, and I would follow them around everywhere, as a band. Annie Leibovitz's Rolling Stone work has always inspired me so I guess you could say that I am using her work as stepping stones. Anyways- these photos above (of Matt Costa & his crew) were taken within a few hours of Parlor Hawk opening for Matt Costa...during sound check and before the show. They're super nice people and we were lucky they let us open for them.

The art show will be up to see December 1st at the HFAC here in Provo. Then I'll put all of it online. I haven't been posting any Parlor Hawk images that I will be using in the show so atleast a few of them have charm.
