  3. Jonsi

    12.11.10

Since Drew opened for Matt Costa the same night & place as Jonsi, we got to see him for free! Luckily I had my long lens because there was no way we were going to get closer than this. It was a show to remember for sure!!!!

  4. I have been working on a documentary type art project for a few months now, well really refining it these past few months. Everyone that follows my blog knows that I photograph Parlor Hawk, my husband's band all the time. Well, I decided to perfect my craft and really take it seriously. I decided that I would only use B&W film to photograph them, and I would follow them around everywhere, as a band. Annie Leibovitz's Rolling Stone work has always inspired me so I guess you could say that I am using her work as stepping stones. Anyways- these photos above (of Matt Costa & his crew) were taken within a few hours of Parlor Hawk opening for Matt Costa...during sound check and before the show. They're super nice people and we were lucky they let us open for them.

The art show will be up to see December 1st at the HFAC here in Provo. Then I'll put all of it online. I haven't been posting any Parlor Hawk images that I will be using in the show so atleast a few of them have charm.

  5. Parlor Hawk is going out on tour (starting Provo-LA--Portland-Rexburg). This time, with friends Desert Noises, also on the Northplatte Label. They have a kick off show TOMORROW- Wednesday- November 3 @ Muse Cafe in Provo. See below for the rest of the shows near you.

  6. Well I went to Fork Fest. It was one of my favorite events of this year. The weather was more than what I had hoped for and all the musicians were more than fabulous. There was a sense of camaraderie happening and it was truly beautiful. I really hope it happens each year. Even if we don't live here, we will come and be apart of it all once again.

Pictured above is Joshua James. He was the genius behind the entire event.

  10. Wow! It's been FOUR days since my last post? I feel like such a dork. I have been so busy...was on tour with Parlor Hawk for a good 5 days... then came back the night before a wedding I had to photograph. And I wish I could say all I was doing was vegging around.. but no, I've been working on weddings and albums and blog posts and music review photos... but i love it. I love it all :)

    I'll announce the winner soon.

  11. Parlor Hawk had the opportunity to open for Train in Salt Lake City for Earth Fest. It was so much fun and I am so happy I photographed with this film. Tasty.

  12. Desert Noises

    14.4.10

Desert Noises will be in Logan, Utah (free admission) and Boise, Idaho this weekend. They are playing with my husband's band, Parlor Hawk (CD now available). So if you are interested in seeing any of these fabulous boys play, click here to see their myspace, and get the exact address to the shows. Logan this Thursday night, and Boise this Friday night.

These photos were taken in a basement where they practice. Those dino mattresses? Yeah it was theirs as little kids.
